The total area of the county is 503.4 Square miles. Named after General David Meriwether, a state militiaman who was often called on by the federal government to negotiate with the Indians. General Meriwether served in the Revolutionary War and was a state legislator and a member of congress . . More Meriwether's beautiful rolling mountains and picturesque plains are boarded by two rivers. Meriwether County is a great place to do business due to its ideal location, industrial parks, available building sites, and bustling downtown developments and main streets.
